Private Classes/Prenatal Consults
I am available to teach private prenatal breastfeeding classes or give you a prenatal breastfeeding consult specifically tailored to your needs.
Why might you want a private class or a prenatal consult?
- You have a busy schedule and need a class that is perfectly convenient for you. I am happy to come to you anytime including evenings and weekends.
- You don’t want a hospital based class, but instead would prefer a class with a more natural and holistic focus.
- You are worried about a specific problem and have lots of questions. For example, a history (reduction, augmentation), trouble with breastfeeding a previous baby, returning turning to work/school soon after your baby’s birth, twins (or more!), or inducing lactation for non-gestational parent or an adopted baby.
- You have specific medical or personal issues that you have questions about but don’t wish to discuss in a group setting.

Classes for Professionals
I have over twenty years of teaching experience for groups of one to two hundred individuals. I can come to your organization and teach on a multitude of infant and lactation related topics. Past topics that I have already developed classes for include:
- General breastfeeding management: a 2 hour introductory course covering the basics of lactation.
- Milk expression: a 2 hour course encompassing why early milk expression is important and methods of milk expression including hand expression and pumping.
- Methods of supplementation: a 2 hour course geared towards front-line postpartum health professionals covering spoon feeding, cup feeding, syringe feeding, supplementation at breast, and bottle feeding.
- Breastfeeding and jaundice: a 2 hour course tailored to health professionals about the physiology of jaundice, its relationship to breastfeeding, and evidence based management.
- Improving care for transgender patients: not specific to lactation; a one hour lecture on how to provide respectful and sensitive care to transgender patients.
I have trained physicians, nurses, dietitians, and WIC peer counselors and I would love the opportunity to help your staff reach the next level in lactation expertise. Please contact me for a proposal and a price quote.
